The sentence was given today, January 31, 2011, and according to a report from The Jakarta Globe, Ariel has also been fined Rp250 million or $28,000 (P1.2M).

This latest development from the Ariel Peterpan-Luna Maya-Cut Tari video scandal came 7 months after Ariel surrendered to the Indonesian police in June 22 days after his videos circulated on the internet.

Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg Results

With about thirty seconds left in round two, Cyborg went for a takedown and quickly found himself defending against an armbar. Diaz was able to get the arm fully extended with about ten seconds to go and force the tap. The takedown only makes sense if it was Cyborg attempting to secure the round on the judges scorecards but it was a bad idea to play into one of Diaz's main strengths in the submission game.

Cyborg should have earned everyone's respect with his performance tonight and Diaz managed to survive a legitimate challenge to retain his title. This was a great fight to cap a fun card for Strikeforce and we should get to see if Diaz can handle another big time striker if Strikeforce makes the logical fight for him against Paul Daley.

NHL Skills Competition 2011 to Continue All Star Momentum?

The NHL skills competition 2011 is playing second fiddle this weekend. Normally, the NHL skills competition 2011 would be the major event before the All Star Game tomorrow. However, the new All Star Draft idea has stolen the spotlight in Carolina this year. After Eric Stall and Nicklas Lidstrom selected their teams in last night's big show, it may be hard for the rest of the weekend to top it. Yet the NHL skills competition 2011 might have a better chance to do that than the All Star Game itself.

In All Star events, the events before the game generate the most interest. Baseball has the Home Run Derby, while basketball highlights their slam dunk contest. For hockey, they have a variety of exhibitions for their stars to shine in.

Starting at 7 pm, the NHL skills competition 2011 will contain six events, although the competitors aren't named in advance. It begins with the Fastest Skater event between two teams of six, including a final match race between their fastest men.

Second is the Breakaway Challenge, which Alex Ovechkin has won each of the last two years. Three shooters from a team will take four shots, with fan voting to determine a winner. Afterwards, the Accuracy Shooting event has six players on two teams trying to hit their styrofoam targets.

The second half of the NHL skills competition 2011 contains the Skills Challenge Relay, the Hardest Shot, and the Elimination Shootout. At some point, all of the All Stars will take part in at least one event, with some likely to be in multiple contests.

There's no one major event that dwarfs the whole night, like with the Home Run Derby and the Slam Dunk Contest. But these events are more inclusive than the others, since everyone has to take part in something. Baseball and basketball superstars often turn down their big All Star contests, which hasn't often helped them stay relevant.

TNT has issued an apology for Tracy Morgan’s vulgar remark about Sarah Palin on last night’s “Inside the NBA” pregame show.

During the live broadcast, co-hosts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith asked the “30 Rock” star who was better looking - Tina Fey or Sarah Palin?

“Yo, let me tell you something about Sarah Palin. She’s good masturbation material,” Morgan responded.

Co-host Ernie Johnson then quickly cut off the comedian by saying, “I want to thank Tracy Morgan for stopping by.”

Charlie Sheen Rushed To Hospital

Charlie Sheen was rushed to the hospital this morning, TMZ has learned ... and a source at the hospital tells us, "It's serious."

We're told Charlie was taken out of his home on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance at 7 AM.

Two young women exited the house at the same time Charlie was taken out with a towel partially over his face.

Charlie was transported to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. We're told tests were performed and doctors are waiting for results.

The 911 call was placed at 6:35 AM.

Sources say Charlie was having severe abdominal pains which triggered the 911 call. Stan Rosenfield, Charlie's publicist, tells TMZ Charlie was in the emergency room this morning -- sleeping.

We're told Charlie's father, Martin Sheen, and his mom, Janet Templeton, are at the hospital. Charlie's ex-wife, Denise Richards, is also there.

UPDATE: Neighbors tell TMZ Charlie threw some sort of party last night. They heard women inside Charlie's house singing Red Hot Chili Peppers songs throughout the evening. The party went on -- loudly -- well into the wee hours.

UPDATE: Charlie's medical emergency will not immediately affect production ... "Two and a Half Men" is on hiatus this week.

'American Idol': Chris Medina Sings For Brain Damaged Girlfriend Juliana Ramos (VIDEO)

Chris Medina is working to make two 'American Idol' dreams come true.

The 26-year old barista from Illinois appeared on Wednesday's tryout episode of the national singing competition, and brought with him his girlfriend, Juliana Ramos. She was there for a different kind of inspiration: two weeks before they were to marry, Ramos was in a car accident, leaving her with brain damage.

Now Ramos' caretaker, Medina tried out for the show, bringing Ramos along and introducing her to judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Did he make the cut? Watch below.

Jack LaLanne Dies at 96

Jack LaLanne, the fitness guru and television personality, has died.

He was 96.

The cause of death was respiratory failure due to pneumonia.

LaLanne was a legendary proponent of exercise and healthy living whose workout program, “The Jack LaLanne Show,” ran from 1951 to 1985.

A tireless motivator, LaLanne also wrote books, recorded albums, produced videos, and marketed equipment (such as juicers) in his campaign to make Americans healthier.

LaLanne’s efforts won him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He is survived by Elaine LaLanne, his wife of 51 years.

UFC Fight for the Troops 2 results: Melvin Guillard takes out Evan Dunham4

After Evan Dunham dropped a controversial decision to Sean Sherk at UFC 119, there were many that believed that one in the loss column was deserving of an asterisk next to it.

You can go ahead and remove that now.

That's because Melvin Guillard absolutely blitzed his way to a first round knockout win over Dunham at UFC Fight Night 23: "Fight for the Troops 2" in Fort Hood, Texas.

From the very beginning of the fight it was clear that Dunham would have trouble dealing with the speed of "The Young Assassin."

After eating a big shot, "3-D" tried to turn the fight into a grappling match, clinching and shooting for a takedown. He got it but it didn't last, and when Guillard got back to his feet it was only a short time before fireworks were let off.



Since moving to the Greg Jackson camp, Guillard has looked like a much more polished striker and that showed itself in this fight.

A big right hand rocked Dunham and he was hurt enough that "The Young Assassin" knew it was time to pounce.

And like a young hungry lion, that's exactly what he did.

To Dunham's credit, he pushed forward and continued to battle for as long as he could, but a few big knees, not to mention countless unanswered shots, and he was unable to continue.

Guillard has said he wants to fight for the title by the end of 2011 after going undefeated in 2010.

Is he on his way to doing just that?

If his performance tonight was any indicator, he just might be.

“This is my opportunity.” And it is — but it’s not for her voice. She gets by on her personality and a “Yo, yo, dawg.” In Hollywood, though, she’ll be cannon fodder.
I’m beginning to see why the Hollywood Week group was so large this year (a reported 325). This group of judges are a much softer touch than previous crews. They’re much more likely to put somebody through on the strength of their personalities. Simon would have shut 75% of those people down.

The next singer is 16-year-old a war refugee from Kosovo whose father won a green-card lottery to emigrate to the United States. So her family knows all about the feeling of getting the “golden ticket.” Now they know it twice.

Pakistan Earthquake: Magnitude 7.4 Quake Hits Southwestern Region

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has been reported in southwestern Pakistan, according to the U.S. Geological Service.

The quake struck 6.2 miles underground and took place 25 miles west of Dalbandin, Pakistan. No injuries were immediately reported.

According to the AP:

The earthquake struck at 1:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday in Baluchistan province near the border with Afghanistan.
Local TV reports said the earthquake was felt in several provinces in the country.
Reuters reports that the quake did not trigger a tsunami warning for the Indian Ocean.

Santonio Holmes' Great Leaping Touchdown Catch Has Jets Soaring

The Jets brought Santonio Holmes in this offseason with the hope that his athleticism would translate to production and a new go-to receiver for Mark Sanchez. The jury's still out on both of those counts, but it's hard to argue that Holmes hasn't been clutch, and he added to the argument in his favor today against the Patriots.

That is a great seven-yard touchdown catch — Holmes hauls it in over his shoulder and then gets not just both feet but a knee down inbounds in the Patriots' end zone — but it's also a hugely important one. That catch came on the heels of a Patriots touchdown to cut the Jets' lead to a field goal, and on a third and four that determined whether the Jets would lead by one or two possessions.

That catch forced the Patriots to try to get two scores to tie, and that has already proved too tall a task for New England, barring a miracle. All the Jets have to do now to make it to the AFC Championship Game is hold onto a 28-14 lead with less than two minutes to go.

The annual Miss America pageant aired tonight and the winner has just been announced. Your 2011 Miss America is Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan - but did she deserve it?

What’s the Difference Between the Miss America Pageant and the Miss USA Pageant?

This is a famous question that has been asked by pageant fans all over the world every year. The difference between the Miss America pageant and the Miss USA pageant isn’t as easy to explain as you might think – but I’ll give it a try: Basically, they are two very similar competitions, just owned by different organizations. It would be like comparing Ellen Degeneres and Oprah Winfrey – they’re both popular talk show hosts, just owned by different television networks.

The other notable differences between Miss USA and Miss America are that the Miss America pageant has a talent portion of the competition and the winner of Miss USA goes on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant, the winner of Miss America does not.

To the surprise of nobody, Baltimore came back to tie the score with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter on a 24-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff at the AFC championship game 2011.
Ben Roethlisberger hit rookie Antonio Brown on a 58-yard pass play on third-and-19, and Rashard Mendenhall scored from the 2 with 1:33 remaining to give the Steelers a 31-24 comeback victory over the Ravens in an AFC divisional playoff game Saturday.
Roethlisberger completed 19 of 32 passing attempts for 226 yards and two touchdowns. The Baltimore defense sacked him six times.
“What better way to put the Ravens out of the tournament,” Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward said. “They keep asking for us and we keep putting them out of the tournament. They’re going to be ticked about this for a long time.”

Broadcast's Trish Keenan Dies

We're deeply saddened to report that Broadcast frontwoman Trish Keenan has died. A statement on the Warp Records site reads:

"It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pneumonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care. Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time. This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace."


Keenan was one of the founding members of Broadcast, who formed in the mid-1990s as a quintet and released a series of singles on Wurlitzer Jukebox and Duophonic Records before being approached by Warp, who compiled the single releases on the 1997 compilation Work and Non Work. The band released its debut full-length, The Noise Made by People, in 2000; that record established a cosmopolitan pop sound reminiscent of Stereolab while also taking influence from the more experimental sounds of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

In 2003, Broadcast released their sophomore full-length, Haha Sound, which featured slightly harsher textures amidst the band's continued draw from 60s pop, early electronic, film soundtracks (particularly the Czech film Valerie and Her Week of Wonders), and avant-garde influences. In 2005, only Keenan and multi-instrumentalist James Cargill remained as members of the band, releasing Broadcast's third full-length, Tender Buttons, which took the band's sound in an even harsher, more staticky direction while still prominently featuring Keenan's sleepy, high-register coo.

Another singles and rarities compilation, The Future Crayon, was released the following year; the duo then remained relatively silent until their most recent release, 2009's collaboratiive mini-LP with experimental musician Julian House's project the Focus Group, Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age.

New Zodiac Signs: Astrological Signs Change

Looking to become a “new you” in 2011? Well, a new revelation by astronomer Parke Kunkle is going to make that a whole lot easier.

According to Kunkle, the Earth’s alignment has changed over the past few hundred thousand years, making what you thought was your astrological sign, actually incorrect.

The reputable astronomer insists that the signs you were born into have changed and a one-month gap in the zodiac signs is the result of that change.

So what does that mean for you?

If you used to be a Virgo, you’re now a Leo. If you used to be a Leo, you’re now a Cancer – and so forth.

But that’s not all.

In addition to changing the signs, the astronomers want to add a thirteenth zodiac sign called Ophiuchus. You’re an Opiuchus if your birthday falls from Nov 29 – Dec 17.

Furthermore, the new zodiac sign dates overlap one another. As you can see below, any person whose birthday falls on the last possible day of the sign, also falls into the first day of the next sign. For instance, if your birthday is on August 10, technically you fall into both the Cancer and the Leo categories. I guess, at that point, you just choose which one you like better J.

Launcher Cannot Obtain Patching Information Wow

World of Warcraft players are experiencing a frustrating ‘launcher cannot obtain patching information‘ error message all over the world. Forums and blogs are abuzz with complaints, fix ideas, suggestions, and lots of venting of frustration. The WOW community is coming together for each other and are helping players who were struck with the inconvenience to get back into the game.
One fix that seems to have worked that I found on a blog suggested this:

Please remove any custom proxy settings.
Go into Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options> Connections> LAN settings and make sure that you Select Automatically Detect settings.
And make sure that you have Use Automatic configuration Script and Use a Proxy server not checked.
If this doesn’t work, renewing your IP address and flushing your DNS cache can often help resolve connection issues.

Iran plane crash kills 71

An IranAir jet carrying 106 people crashed as it was making an emergency landing Sunday in a snowstorm in the country's northwest and broke into several pieces, killing 71 of those on board, Iranian media reported.

The others survived, some with only light injuries.

The pilots of the Boeing 727, operated by Iran's national airline, attempted the emergency landing in the city of Orumiyeh after reporting a technical failure to the control tower, the semiofficial Mehr news agency reported, quoting a deputy provincial governor, Ebrahim Fatholahi.

The nature of the technical failure was unclear. A spokesman for the Iranian civil aviation organization, Abbas Mosayebi, said only that the plane "faced an incident," state TV reported.

The network also said the aircraft disappeared from radar and went down in farmland after making a second attempt to land. There was no word on what might have caused the crash. The aircraft was headed from Tehran to Orumiyeh, capital of West Azerbaijan province, a distance of about 736 kilometres.

State TV aired footage showing rescue workers and local farmers searching for survivors Sunday night in parts of the wrecked plane under snowfall and in the darkness.

Thirty-five people survived, including two crew members, said Javad Mahmoudi, another deputy governor for West Azerbaijan, speaking to State TV. He put the number of confirmed dead at 71.

Some of the passengers were only lightly injured and able to walk off the plane and some had to be hospitalized, Mosayebi said.

Heavy snow complicated rescue efforts, said the head of the State Emergency Centre, Gholam Reza Masoumi, according to the semiofficial Fars news agency. That report also said there was fog in the area.

The plane broke into several pieces, but there was no explosion or fire, said Mahmoud Mozaffar, head of the rescue department of Iran's Red Crescent Society, speaking on state TV.

Iran has a history of frequent air accidents blamed on its aging aircraft and poor maintenance. IranAir's fleet includes Boeing and Airbus aircraft, many of them bought before the country's 1979 Islamic Revolution, which led to a cutoff in ties with the U.S.

Iranian airlines, including those run by the state, are chronically strapped for cash, and maintenance has suffered, experts say. U.S. sanctions prevent Iran from updating its 30-year-old American aircraft and make it difficult to get European spare parts or planes as well. The country has come to rely on Russian aircraft, many of them Soviet-era planes that are harder to get parts for since the Soviet Union's fall.

In July 2009 a Russian-made jetliner crashed in northwest Iran shortly after taking off from the capital, killing all 168 on board.

In February 2003 a Russian-made Ilyushin 76 carrying members of the Revolutionary Guard crashed in the mountains of southeastern Iran, killing 302 people aboard.

Is Facebook Shutting Down

No this is an Internet Rumor.
Facebook just secured $500 million in new financing and is on pace for a public offering this year. While I can not confirm any true source for who may have started the rumor I was able to find the following quote on xfunmaza.com

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Facebook has become a titan on the internet. While not the money generating giant that Google has become, it does touch more peoples lives than any other single website [based on average time spent.] Thus personal production within the work space has been affected by Facebook and the apps that are attached to it. For example it is reported that there are 18 million people on Farmville and the average person spends 17 minutes per day playing. Hmm personal time or company time?

Again this is just a rumor.

Sometimes I get a kick out of the odd hoaxes floating around the net. And, at times, I shake my head and think to myself: How unbelievably stupid can one be.

Tonight, while looking at trending topics on social channels, I noticed people talking about Facebook shutting down. Some websites are going as far as quoting Mark Zuckerberg, though I truly believe the quotes are fabrications. Actually, I’m positive.

Ladies and gentleman, Facebook was recently crowned the most visited website in 2010, and was valued at $50-billion by Goldman Sachs. Do you really think it’s shutting down? Cummon’ now.

Gabrielle Giffords Shot In The Head

A state of shock exists in Tucson, Arizona where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has been shot and is now fighting for her life, RadarOnline.com can report.

The Congresswoman and at least 11 others were killed or wounded at the shooting that took place outside a Safeway supermarket, where Giffords was holding a well-publicized meeting with her constituents.

She was shot "point blank in the head," reports the Tucscon Citizen.

Eyewitness Dr. Steven Rayle told The New York Times the gunman approached the Congresswoman from behind, took out his gun, held it only a foot from Giffords' head and fired.

He got off another 20 or so rounds before being wrestled to the ground.

The Congresswoman was rushed to Tucson's University Medical Center. She had surgery for a gunshot wound to the head and is listed as being in a critical condition, although the hospital said her outlook was "optimistic" and that she was responding to commands from doctors.

The gunman has reportedly been taken into custody.

Officials said a 9-year-old child was among the killed, and a U.S. Marshal said a federal judge was also fatally shot in the attack.

Others wounded included some of Gifford's aides who were with her at the time.

UPDATE 2:59 PM PT -- A photo from the shooting suspect Jared Loughner's former MySpace Page shows what appears to be a Glock 9mm handgun atop a U.S. history textbook, according to The Smoking Gun website. Loughner was arrested upon arrival at the murder scene by the local sheriff's department.
UPDATE 2:49 PT -- CBS News reporting an official says the gun recovered at the scene is a 9mm Glock pistol.

(for those of you who live in Columbus). If anyone in the Columbus area can check him out, hopefully we can find a way to contact him (Doral said he did not learn where Ted lives, but Doral knows there are no nearby homeless shelters). Also, Doral was an awesome guy on the phone, he told me his wife is carrying around a restaurant gift certificate in her car for Ted in hopes she’ll see him again. UPDATE3: I received an e-mail from the the radio jocks who featured the sound-byte from this video on their show 1/4/11.
