This week on "Dancing With the Stars," we were treated to a "double-score showdown." The judges were supposedly going to look at both technical skill and entertainment value -- even though the scores ultimately didn't differ too much across the board.Erin Andrews: Our ESPN broadcaster started out the competition Monday night, and suffice it to say it was a performance that Erin probably wishes she had back. The dance felt disjointed, the music was weird, and for a tango I expected there to be more romance -- especially when you consider how these two are an "item" depending on who you ask.Evan Lysacek: You have to say it -- the more Evan dances, the more he looks like a front-runner to win the whole thing. He's likable, hard-working, and he just has a general since of fun out there. His tango didn't necessarily have a ton of entertainment value, but it was technically sound.
Niecy Nash: For the second straight week, Niecy went for a tear-jerker as she looked to theme her rumba in memory of her brother, who passed away 17 years ago. It was a touching routine, but at the same time many people like the "Clean House" host because of her humor. It was really here that the judges started their crusade of being extremely harsh on the contestants, as Niecy received only a 36 out of 60.Aiden Turner: However bad Niecy had it, it was even worse for the soap star. Aiden first of all was told to rumba to a fast Kris Allen song -- then, he looked like a robot throughout much of the performance. The most entertaining part? Trying to figure out what in the world Edyta Sliwinska was wearing.
Nicole Scherzinger: It was weird seeing the judges be hard on Nicole, since it really wasn't a reflection on her scores (50 out of 60). This was probably her weakest dance so far of the competition, but that probably still makes it a mile ahead of every other woman in the competition at this point.
Jake Pavelka: "The Bachelor" wasn't handed a rose tonight by the judges. This was one of those situations where you really wanted the guy to do well, since he spent so much time talking about how his goal was to impress the judges and stay out of the bottom two. However, Jake this week had a major stumble in the middle of the routine, and it showed in the judges' scores.
Kate Gosselin: "If you fail this week, he wins." What a great quote by Tony Dovolani this week when talking about Jon. Kate obviously had struggles away from the ballroom (again) this week, and she had quite a few emotional moments when talking about it.Before I continue, how weird is it that ABC chose to make Kate perform to a song (in Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment") that started off a media firestorm at the American Music Awards last week? The dance itself was pretty bad, though a step up from last week. Kate just needs to have fun.Chad Ochocinco: Before this episode, the football star promised to "make love on the dance floor" during his rumba with Cheryl Burke. Did he succeed? Most definitely. Chad had arguably the most exciting dance of the night, as I actually saw chemistry there between the two of them.
Pam Anderson: Pam got the coveted final slot this week, and also got a warning from Len beforehand -- don't make the rumba too rauchy. Then, she came out wearing a sheet. The judges had near unanimous praise for the number nonetheless, calling it "sophisticated" and "magic." Will it be enough to keep them alive? It will all depend on the votes.
