MTV Video Music Awards Live Blog 2011

Every year, the MTV Video Music Awards are the craziest night in music with the events as unpredictable as the fashion. In 2010, it was Lady Gaga that stole the show taking home a slew of moonmen and caused heads to turn with her famous meat dress. This year, it was Beyonce who made headlines when she walked the carpet sporting a baby bump. Watching the VMAs live, we were standing by to bring you all of the crazy, outrageous moments of the 2011 VMAs!

Twitter was buzzing with pre-show VMA tweets, including #whatwillgagawear, Wiz [Khalifa] and Amber [Rose], Beyonce and Demi Lovato trending. First to show up was the cast of the Jersey Shore. Snooki played it safe with her dress selection while Deena rocked an over-the-top rainbow dress. Cobra Starship gave a spot on performance of “You Make Me Feel” at the pre-show with hot up-and-comer, Sabi. Justin Bieber sported glasses and red pants when he was interviewed by his girlfriend and pre-show host Selena Gomez. Of course, he planted a kiss on her cheek, making the Beliebers of the world jealous. Selena looked star struck when she spoke to Britney Spears, who wore basic black. Katy Perry, who had 10 nominations, had pink hair and seemed to be picking up some of Russell Brand's British accent. Nicki Minaj was looking fly when she dropped the new music video for “Fly” featuring Rihanna. Check out the video below:

The show kicked off with a Lady Gaga performance of "You and I." Stefani Germanotta wasn't a "lady," but the male persona in her new music video. "She" smoked a cigarette while giving a monologue with a stage full of Gaga male clones. Justin Bieber looked bored and Adele confused throughout the performance.

Britney Spears took home the first award for Best Pop Video for "Till the World Ends" sans Southern accent in her acceptance speech. But it's no surprise that Britney won this award. She's on top of her game in 2011 and deserved it. While she's had some insane past VMA moments, this year is her year.
