He was 96.
The cause of death was respiratory failure due to pneumonia.
LaLanne was a legendary proponent of exercise and healthy living whose workout program, “The Jack LaLanne Show,” ran from 1951 to 1985.
A tireless motivator, LaLanne also wrote books, recorded albums, produced videos, and marketed equipment (such as juicers) in his campaign to make Americans healthier.
LaLanne’s efforts won him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He is survived by Elaine LaLanne, his wife of 51 years.
