4.4 Los Angeles Earthquake March 16 2010

LA Earthquake 2010 and a Chance of Stronger Quake in Future. Today a 4.4 earthquake hit Los Angeles, California adding to the laundry list of earthquakes felt around the year thus far. The quake is said to have not caused any damage, although there were originally reports that a 10 foot stretch of road had buckled. However, it is said that the quake didn’t cause the buckling.
More importantly, no injuries have been reported in connection with the earthquake. The loss or injury of human lives is what is horrific about these natural disasters. However, this was a relatively small earthquake.
Still yet, the Associated Press reports that seismic experts warn that the San Andreas fault is long overdue for a major quake. This part of California hasn’t had a major quake since 1994.
Experts also recommend that people have a stock of canned goods and bottled water in the event of an earthquake. This will ensure that families are provided for and don’t have to brave the chaos that typically erupts in the wake of a major quake.
The LA earthquake follows earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Japan, Indonesia, and Turkey in addition to other minor quakes in states such as Hawaii, Alaska, Oklahoma, and other parts of California.
