The legendary actor of 1960s- Robert Culp, who is best remembered for his role as Kelly Robinson, a spy for Pentagon under the guise of an international tennis player in the television series “I Spy”, died on Wednesday. The actor was pronounced dead at a hospital around midday. According to reports, Robert Culp collapsed in front of his Hollywood home during a morning stroll. He was taken to a hospital immediately where the doctors tried their best but could not save the 79 year old actor.
The Los Angeles police have reportedly said that they do not suspect any foul play in the death of the actor. Hillard Elkins, the manager of Robert Culp has revealed to the media that Robert Culp’s son has been informed of the death and the cause of the death has been sighted as heart attack. The family is devastated by the death of the actor.
Robert Culp had acted in a number of movies and television series. However, the audience remembers him as a pentagon spy agent in “I Spy” where he teamed with Bill Cosby. On Wednesday, after learning about the death of his co-star, Billy Cosby reportedly mentioned that Robert Culp was a meticulous and committed actor. Billy Cosby also added that to him Robert Culp was more of an elder brother than a costar. He said that the deceased actor was never jealous about the fact that Billy Cosby won all the three Emmy awards for the best actor in a leading role during the years the series ran on television. Robert Culp was nominated for the same category along with Billy Cosby.
