Tai - A powerful, severe 6.9 magnitude earthquake has rocked the southeastern region of Taiwan. There have been no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.
A strong 6.9 magnitude earthquake has rocked the northern region of Philippines and the southeastern part of Taiwan on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
There have been no immediate reports of injuries, fatalities or significant damages. No tsunami alert has yet been issue.
Sunday’s earthquake was located 150 southwest of the Ryuku Islands in Japan, 170 miles southeast of T’ai-Tung, Taiwan and 170 miles northeast of the Batan Islands in the Philippines. The quake’s depth was measured at 6.2 miles.
It is currently unknown if the earthquake in Taiwan and the Philippines were the same or two separate quakes.
