In the latest NBA news, Milwaukee Bucks star Andrew Bogut suffered a scary elbow injury during Saturday's game. The Andrew Bogut injury came against the Phoenix Suns and is going to require further tests to see his status. The latest reports indicated that X-rays showed no broken bones and it was only a slightly dislocated elbow, according to Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times.
The Bogut elbow injury occurred in the second quarter as the Bucks center landed badly on the floor right after dunking and hanging on the rim. Upon the crash to the floor, Bogut awkwardly twisted his arm. He was taken to the hospital immediately after for treatment and X-rays. Also involved in the play was the Phoenix Suns Amare Stoudamire who lightly touched Bogut in the back as he dunked. Bogut fell to the floor after the light contact, sustaining the injury. The refs called a technical on Stoudamire who was loudly booed by the Milwaukee fans. A look at the replay after the fact, revealed that Stoudamire's contact was not that severe.
Andrew Bogut is currently the Milwaukee Bucks' leading scorer (15.9 points) and rebounder (10.3 rebounds), so the team is hoping they won't lose their star player right before the NBA Playoffs are set to begin. They previously lost their leading scorer Michael Redd to a knee injury which has sidelined him for most of the 2009-10 season. To help with the load they've relied on rookie point guard Brandon Jennings who has been brilliant in his first year, as well as veteran player Jerry Stackhouse.
