Nomar Garciaparra Retires With Red Sox

Nomar Garciaparra signed a one-day contract with the Boston Red Sox and retired. He will join ESPN as a baseball analyst. On August 10, 1997, I made my first pilgrimage to Fenway Park, driving down from Maine with my Dad and little brother. Nomar hit a home run over the Green Monster off Kevin Appier.
