Elin Nordegren Speaks About Divorce From Tiger Woods

Elin Nordegren is silent no more. After nine months of not speaking to the press, the ex-wife of Tiger Woods — who only finalized her divorce earlier this week — makes the smart move of giving her first interview to People magazine (on whose cover she’ll be this Friday, with the headline: “My Own Story.”) In released snippets, Nordegren says: “I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.” (Woods and Nordegren will share custody of their two children, Sam, 3, and Charlie, 19 months.)

Speaking of her children, they are her primary concern at the moment: “My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal,” says the 30-year-old, who is now studying towards a college degree in psychology.
