Michigan election results

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) -- (08/03/10)--The polls have been closed now for three hours and results are coming in.The biggest race is the state's gubernatorial primary. Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm is term limited and will step down in January after spending eight years in office.

Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder has won the Republican primary over four other candidates vying for the top spot.
Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero has won the Democratic primary over House Speaker Andy Dillon.
Virg Bernero is tough and determined to fight for the things that matter most to Michigan families -- diversifying Michigan's economy, educating our citizens and protecting people as we move through these tough times," said Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
"I look forward to working with him to continue moving Michigan forward."
