Streator, IL Tornado Leaves City Badly Damaged

Illinois, Ohio and Michigan have suffered the devastating effects of a series of tornados that swept through the areas last night. One of the cities that has been more damaged by them is Streator, IL. Tornado forces in that city also ended up with 17 people injured.

According to a witness in Streator: “I saw people coming out of their homes right after the tornado hit; a second story of a house was taken off,”

In a news conference Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford announced the number of injured people and added that at least 30 buildings have major structural damages. Some people are describing the city as a “war zone” for how badly damaged it is.Other cities where tornadoes were reported include Elmwood, Peoria, Hanna City, Washington, East Peoria, Dwight, Kankakee and St. Anne.
