Emily Keyes

Emily Keyes
The death of a daughter caused her parent to take a step to form a school security program called the standard response protocol. The September 2006 killing at the Platte Canyon High School was a tragedy no one could forget. The gunman who took the children’s hostage at the school shot the Emily Keyes in the head that died at the spot. The parents of Emily Keyes are struggling to improve the school security and safety system o avoid the catastrophe they had to face three years back. The parents of Emily Keyes are introducing new methods of communication when an emergency situation strikes similar to the September 2006 shootings at the Platte canyon high school. The father of Emily have said that instead of using difficult language the students and as well as the teachers should learn a simple method to inform the officials about the emergency situation.

The standard response protocol that the parents are introducing is the use of a universal language that everyone can understand easily. The father of Emily Keyes told to the news that the schools are presenting their new standard response protocol idea in many schools and the Jefferson County School has started adopting the method. The parents are trying to implement their standard response protocol idea throughout the nation and every child in the school should be aware of these languages. The parents of Emily even said that if they didn’t have lost their daughter they would have never taken such a step to make the SRP as a standard in all the schools
